You may be unable to use a drug that most other women tolerate easily, because of how the side effects hit you. Or you may cruise through every treatment without even a single bout of nausea.

Many of the combination chemotherapies have bearable side effects. Clearly nothing you'd go looking for, but something you can put up with. Almost all drugs cause nausea, fatigue, suppression of the immune system with risk of infection, and partial or complete hair loss. Some drugs also cause diarrhea or constipation, inflammation and ulceration of mucous membranes, fluid retention, rashes, infertility, menopausal symptoms, and numbness of the hands and feet. Most of these symptoms can be prevented or managed so that they aren't too troubling, and most of them are temporary.

Sometimes side effects from the same chemotherapy can be reduced by the way the medicine is made. For example, the active ingredient in Taxol (chemical name: paclitaxel), a drug in the taxane family, can be delivered in two ways. The brand name Taxol preparation, dissolved in a castor-oil base called Cremophor, appears to be associated with longer-lasting numbness and pain of the hands and feet. Many patients have a significant allergic reaction to the Cremophor. To prevent this potential allergic response to Taxol, steroids are routinely given to everyone who takes it.

A newer preparation of paclitaxel, Abraxane, uses a protein base so it can dissolve in water. There have been no allergic reactions to the protein base, so you don't have to take steroids when you take Abraxane. Although numbness and pain can also occur with this newer medication, they seem to go away sooner with Abraxane than with Taxol. The standard dose of Abraxane is higher than the standard dose of Taxol, but patients appear to tolerate it better. Abraxane is taken for 30 minutes every three weeks; the Taxol infusion takes three hours every three weeks.

Certain drugs have unusual, serious but rare side effects. Adriamycin (chemical name: doxorubicin) can weaken the muscle of the heart. Mitomycin (chemical name: mutamycin) can cause inflammation and irreversible scarring of the lung. Several medications such as cytoxan (chemical name: cytophosphamide) and methotrexate (generic medication) are associated with a tiny (less than 1%) but real risk of developing treatment-induced leukemia is associated with the use of several medications (such as cytoxan and methotrexate, with a less than 1% risk).

It's just about impossible to anticipate all the side effects of every medication in any reasonable way. How you experience a drug is strongly influenced by what you've already been through and what other drugs you are taking at the same time. Start the baking soda neutralizing program in the morning by first taking your saliva & Urine elimination before eating or drinking any liquid or food.
Start a journal to keep tract of your pH levels until you reach a neutral pH or a 7. The pH paper has a color chart to determine the pH. Of the body fluids.
After taking your urine & saliva samples, take a heaping teaspoon of baking soda in an 8 ounce glass of water. Repeat 3 or 4 times a day until your urine and salvia reach a pH of 7 as determined by the color chart on the pH paper.
Test your saliva & urine at least 2 hours after eating or drinking anything as the food and liquid will give you an inaccurate reading.
Start the baking soda on an empty stomach before breakfast or 2 hours after eating. Use 1 heaping teaspoon of baking soda in an 8 ounce of water and drink all of it immediately followed by a plain glass of spring water.
I recommend only Wall Mart Artesian or spring water as I have tested Wall Mart water with a Dark Field Microscope on live blood samples.
Do not use distilled water as it is a pH 5 which makes it a carcinogenic element. Cancer begins in the body at a pH of 4.5 and lower.
